Selling On Ebay - To increase your website traffic. (Part 2)

Remember in the last post my friend Jason gave me some of his little secrets about how his clients put an extra $3,000 in his pocket.. well below I have given some of his advanced secrets and tips on how to build a list and to grow your profits each month exponentially.

Normally once a seller makes a sale on ebay they just email the buyer, send the item and be done with it. But a smart ebay seller will know they can keep that email (which can be leveraged) and send a message to notify the buyer or a similar auction a week or so later . This strategy is genius and if you are not using this you are leaving a lot of money on the table.

There are lots of good ways and techniques to build a list quickly but this is one way to build a client list of buyer through ebay very quick indeed.

First of all I use to wonder why there was all these ebook auction listings for like $0.01, I mean comon 1c how silly the aution fees are more than that. Surely this would lose an ebay seller money?

No……Well not really….let me explain…

There is a good chance that they are losing on the front end sale, but their main goal is to get a client and email address to use later from this auction. This would include a backend sale or trying to encourage you to join a newsletter. Keeping in mind they might possibly buy at a later day. Otherwise they would be losing money for every sale, due to Ebay’s fees being higher than the sales price and it would be a silly thing to do.

This seller realises that to generate sales, and I mean lots of sales you need as many subscribers on your list as you can. One persons email could be worth $1.00, $2.00 or possibly $100 down the track. So should you worry about selling stuff for that 1c price if you know they could be a possible buyer. Of course not!

What you need to do first is go to ebay and purchase an ebook from there (obviously that allows you to resell it) and resell in on ebay. Simple huh?

Look, you won’t get rich just from hocking these 1c ebook auctions, but your building a list rembmer! Later when you have them as your client and they realise you sell some really good tools you can persuade them to subscribe to your newsletter or ezine or bid on other auctions.

I have calculated each person that you add as a valued subscriber in your list is worth $1 per month, possibly more! So if you had 1000 subscribers, you could expect, on average, to earn $1000 per month. This will vary from month to month obviously and what you are offering, but doing this is highly lurative and the soon you do this the better.

The secrets here is to offer your main site with several high quality bonuses for free. Once someone opts into that to receive you newsletter you have their details. And hopefully for a long time. Then this is where you leverage! They have opted in, see you have a good offer and they purchase. But then you go in for the kill and offer other bonues or newer products for discounted price. So on and so forth.

Always remember you should be trying to direct them to your main site too. Ebay is great, but eventually you’ll want to set up your own business website.

Jason got great success doing this, and working a few hours a day because the majority of people, myself included, love freebies, and became subscribers and went on to become repeat buyers. But Jason was selling some killer products. Thats where you have to be different. You have to offer the newest and most high quality products or you are just waisting your time.

Secret Tip: just maske sure that your sale price of each auction is enough to cover you ebay fees, or you might get in trouble. You really don’t have to offer auctions for $0.01c each, Jason just did this and maximised results. I will be honest and say, you are going to lose money on every sale, but you are not worried about that because hopefully the prospect will be a repeat buyers futher down the track.

If you have top-quality resources and newsletters, then you have a less likely chance of people unsubscribing requests, then you are likely to make any minimal losses and make more money as your list keeps building!

This tactic, or selling on ebay has been around a while, but it was only bought to my close attention last night!

Jason and a few of my close marketing friends of mine came over last night. We sat down over a cup of coffee and Jason was telling me that he has a side business where he is selling on ebay or selling profitable items on ebay and was pulling in some good dough. Now when he told me he was selling on ebay, I thought he was making a few hundred dollars a week as a sideline hobby. But when he blurted out he was making $7k per month selling on ebay and only working about 3 hours a week, I nearly spat my coffee back at him. LOL. I know there are lots of people making alright money selling on ebay but this is amazing.

$7k a month! thats like $84, 000 per year without hardly lifting a finger. He went on and told me some of his closest secrets for sucessful selling on ebay and increasing traffic to one of his main sites. Now I knew Jason was a smart dude, I love our brainstorming chats, so I told him to spill the beans!. He rattled off his main strategy by selling on ebay. Remember this is the same strategy that is currently making $7k per month and was giving him lots of traffic and lots of sales!

I thought his ideas were so good I took some quick notes and thought I would share them (see below)

Selling on ebay can yield big traffic results because :-

- Selling on ebay is quick and costs little
- You’re leveraging off ebay, which already get heaps of traffic

- There are lots of hungry buyers looking to purchase things others are selling on ebay

- Ebay sells a wide variety of stuff

- Your product will fit into one of the categories on ebay

- You can build up a good database of repeat buyers

- You can network and make friends on ebay and get them to tell their customers about you auctions

- After someone buys tell them of a similar auction or your website (cross sell) and make another sale

- Offer regular customers discounts, coupons 2 for 1 deals so they keep returning again and again. (more traffic)

- You get more bids using popular words for the category your selling on ebay .

- You can use the about me page to build credibility and send clients to your website or email

I hope when you read this you will make notes and go and use it. You would be silly not to.
